This “How to Order” page provides information about creating store accounts, qualifying for Native tax exemption, our shipping rates and payment and delivery options.
How to Order
Ordering products using our on-line shopping cart system is easy. Select a fabric from our store, choose the number of meters you want to purchase, and click the “Add to Cart” button. This takes you to your “Shopping Cart” details page, if you want to purchase more fabric, return to the store by clicking on “Continue Shopping” and repeat the steps. When you’ve finished adding items to your shopping cart you can “Checkout” or click on the cart icon at the top of your screen and you’ll be directed to your “Shopping Cart”.
As we are located in and ship our fabrics from Ontario, we charge 13% HST on all purchases from this site. Should you have a Native status certificate, you are eligible for exemption from taxes on all your future purchases. Please review the next section for details on how to achieve tax exemption status.
Creators Gifts is an Native owned and operated business and we are committed to respecting our collective treaty rights and we will always honour the point of sale tax exemption for Native people.
To apply for sales tax exemption the following must be met:
- You hold a Certificate of Indian Status
- You must provide your Certificate number to us following the steps below.
To obtain a tax exemption of all future purchases on this site, please create an account here and provide your status number where requested. Once you create your account we will enable your tax exempt status and confirm via your email as soon as possible.
Your Shopping Cart
To view the fabrics you have placed in your shopping cart, click on the shopping cart icon (top right corner). You can make changes to your quantities by selecting your desired number and clicking on the “Update Cart” button. To remove items, click on the X “Remove Item” icon to the left of each line item. If you wish to add additional items to your shopping cart, click on the “Continue Shopping” button.
Click on the “Check Out” button of the shopping cart.
Completing Your Order
If you already have a customer account, please select the “Returning Customer” checkbox and enter your email address and password.
If you are a new customer, fill out all the form fields as accurately as possible. Make sure that your “Billing Address” matches the address given on your credit card or PayPal account. Once complete, select the “Continue to Shipping” button.
Please select your shipping method, either “Local Pickup” or “Expedited Shipping”, then select the “Continue to Payment” button.
On the “Payment Method” page, please select your payment method – by Direct Deposit (Interac) or by PayPal.
At this point, you can go back and change your address information, or confirm your order by making payment, or you may cancel your order. If you confirm your order, a confirmation page will be displayed along with an order number (a copy of your order number and order details will also be e-mailed to you).
If you chose to pay by direct deposit, please send payment via Interac to firstname.lastname@example.org, please make sure that you quote your order number. If we have not received payment in 48 hours, we will send a Interac request for payment to confirm your order and payment details. When we receive your Interac payment, we will ship your order.
We currently only ship to Canadian and US addresses. If you are based in the USA, please contact us to place your order and get accurate shipping costs.
Please review the following shipping rates within Canada. All dollar amounts are stated in Canadian funds. Shipping charges include expedited shipping with a tracking number. Should you not have received your order within a reasonable time, please contact us to initiate a follow-up.
1 to 14 meters = $18.50
15 to 27 meters = $23.50
28 to 41 meters = $42.00
42 to 54 meters = $47.00
55 to 68 meters = $65.50
69 to 81 meters = $70.50
82 to 95 meters = $89.00
96 to ∞ meters = $94.00
For more than 96 meters, we charge a flat rate of $94.00
We reserve the right to charge additional postage for remote addresses, but we will advise you.
There is a minimum shipping cost of $15.00 CDN funds for 1 meter of fabric shipped to any Canadian location via Canada Post. Creators Gifts, a small business, acknowledges this is astronomical for 1 meter of fabric. Please read on …
We recommend that you talk to your Mom, Aunties, cousins and friends to see if they want to order fabric, too. Save on postal rates per meter and combine your orders.
At a minimum, your order will cost approximately $15 to ship locally. Local pickup is available at Checkout to save on shipping. Local in-person delivery may also be available in certain situations.
We use PayPal as our on-line payment processor. You do not require a PayPal account as PayPal offers the option of payment via your credit card. As all transaction detail is managed by PayPal, we do not receive or keep your credit card information.
We also offer payment by e-transfer. At the Payment page, select “Pay Later” and send your payment via Interac to email@example.com.
For over-the-phone or store front orders, after pricing with shipping is determined, we will send you a Paypal or Interac payment request to your email address. Click on the “Pay Now” button in the payment request invoice and you will be transferred to the secure PayPal website for payment.
As soon as we receive confirmation that payment has been made, we will mail your fabric order to you by Canada Post Expedited Parcel service.
For larger orders Creators Gifts will work with you to choose the fabrics you want and is happy to send an invoice to your email. Shipment will be sent or delivered after payment is received.
Returns and Exchanges
We stand behind the performance of all the products we sell. If a product does not meet your expectations we request that you contact us to discuss options on exchange.
All sales are final on cut fabric, but our highest priority is customer satisfaction. Please contact us if the product your receive does not meet your expectations.
When you place an order, we collect your name, mailing address, phone number, and e-mail address. We require this information to prepare your order and to contact you to confirm your order. In the future, we may decide to send e-mails to existing customers to advise them of new products, promotions, sales, etc. However, we will always first give you the option of declining these types of e-mails.
